Nearly a month has passed since my last writing. We continued our training until the 36th day, which was last Thursday, June 10, 1943. The weather has been bad all the time. Not more than one or two good days at a time and those were few and far between. On Tuesday June 9, 1943 I received my call to classification for my appointment to Army Specialized Training School. I was very happy because this was certainly a fine opportunity to continue my Engineering training and at no cost to me.
