Don A. Gardner arrived home last Monday and it was surely swell to see him. He flew in from Orlando, Florida and stayed one week until the 5th of July. We went out together the majority of the nights he was here. On the night of July 3, a Saturday, Don Bailey, Leo Barlow, myself, Don Gardner, and Heller got together. It was like a reunion. We all went to Brighton and got in about 3:00 A.M.

I applied for my overseas furlough last Thursday and I am hoping to get it next week. If I do get it, it will be my last furlough before going across and will be a ten-day furlough. Wednesday nite was a party at Terrace Flats up Mill Creek. I had Barbara and she was pretty mad about the week previous (I had to take out Jean Watt's because Barbara was on Swing) but she soon got over it and started acting normal again.

Our training hasn't changed much, we take hikes, have bayonet training, extended and close order drill, and lots of lectures on first aid and war, etc. etc. As yet I am not on a shipping order.
